Dave, thanks for keeping up with this. The lyric may be as you noted, but i think, keeping in mind the rice-a-roni tune, that it may be a combination of our two. "Rise, sorrow, the saffron (seven) sister trees"? Ah well, the book will answer.

Meg's new novel is entitled "The Ten-Year Nap". By the way, I heard that recurrent lyric as "Rise, sorrow's strains, from the seven sister trees." I wanted to pick up the book anyway, so now I've got another reason to look.

Dude, I'll drop/sell acid again before I check out any reggae on iTunes--oh no she--why you trippin?!

Seriously, good work on the article.

Don't push it, tryin to rope me all up in your cult music like David Corresch or some voo doo shizzy. The Police. Aretha. David Gray. AC/DC. These are folks that move DZ, my brotha.

Say ONE thing and I'll hurt you.

Happy Halloweenie!!

I'm giving us all an assignment: October Stories! Think: fall, emotional weather, Halloween, World Series, the smell of rot in the air, roadkill all over the streets... Go!

Rock on, Matt. Rolling Stone, here he comes.

Matt! NICE--a feature in the Voice? Holy sheet!

You know, I think it's hard to WRITE an engaging piece on music--keep the reader into the beat, rhythm, words, scenario--you get my drift? Yet you do so, masterfully, with precision and POWER. I'd be tempted to hum a few bars, attach a download. With your article, we don't need a sound sample.

I loathe reggae music. Gives me flashbacks to a time when I strayed from my prepped-out roots. Any mention of Pink Floyd makes the fillings fall out of my teeth. I get a visible tic. Bong smoke. Bob Marlaaayyy. Dreads. Patchouli. EW!

But I followed you down those concrete steps of Don't Trip (great name) all the way to the end. Twice.

So, giddy-up, Matt. Congrats on the article.

Yeah yeah yeah, sure sure sure. Quit dodging. I've heard you talk and slice and dice and wonder about the stuff in our workshop, so save it, dollface. Ha. Seriously, just revisit the ending of the piece. Hasty was maybe the wrong adjective, like...diminutive for JCO. It's an odd ending, that's all I'm saying. Maybe he's trying to show the resistance he felt towards the father (as he feels about eating lard?) has shifted, relented; so, now it's okay to try the lardo, in fact, gorge on it?

Perhaps I'm way too analytical. It just seems he's after something with that scene.

Help me. Get in the boat, Scalise or you're dead to me. I think Antrim's great. Just wondered what you thought, publicly.

I'm your private dancer,
DZ

Oh and hey, I'm working on a stalker piece called, Joba Joba, Won't You Be Mine? (this would be me making a reference to sassy Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain) I really believe we'd be good together. I hate bugs, too.

The Sox will win again this year, everyone. Happy October.
